The reason we exist

Why We Started

TonOfBricks was set up for two simple reasons: some of the LEGO sets we all dream of building are eye-wateringly expensive, and even if you can afford them, where on earth do you put them once they're built? We wanted to give LEGO fans across the UK the chance to build the sets they've always wanted, without the cost of buying them or the headache of storing them.

Every Builder is Different

Not all LEGO fans love LEGO for the same reason. Some love the build — the process, the satisfaction of clicking that final piece into place. Some love to collect — hunting down rare sets and keeping them pristine. Some love to display — turning shelves into galleries of plastic architecture and iconic vehicles. TonOfBricks is here for all of them, but especially for the builders. The ones who want to build a vintage set from their childhood, the big Millennium Falcon or a supercar like the Bugatti Chiron — and then want to build something else.

The founder's story

The Story Behind TonOfBricks

I grew up loving LEGO. The classic Space sets of the 80s were my gateway — those yellow spacemen with their crazy helmets and the baseplates representing the moon's surface. Then came Technic and the pneumatic sets, which ignited something else entirely: a fascination with how things work, the engineering and how mechanisms move. Fast forward a few decades and after introducing my kids to LEGO, I rediscovered a love for it — but now I love collecting, building and displaying. The problem? There is only so much shelf space and I ran out a while ago. I've spoken to a lot of people about LEGO over the last few years and running out of space, and money, seemed to be a common problem. That's where the idea for TonOfBricks was born.

How it works

Building Trust, Together

To keep TonOfBricks fair for everyone, access to our larger and more valuable sets is earned over time rather than available immediately. Every member starts with our Apprentice range — a great selection of sets to get started with. After 3 months of membership and at least 4 successful rentals, you unlock our Builder range. After 9 months, our Engineer range opens up — seriously impressive sets that take real skill to complete. And after 24 months, you unlock our Master tier, home to our most prestigious and valuable sets including the Millennium Falcon, the Bugatti Chiron and the Lamborghini Sián. There are no deposits of any kind — your membership history is all we need. If you want to move faster, our Skip the Queue option lets you prepay months upfront to unlock higher tiers sooner, with a discount the more you prepay.
